Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") set out the conditions for using SnapEnglish ("the App"). Please use the App only after agreeing to these Terms. By installing or using the App, you are deemed to have agreed to these Terms.
Article 1 Application
These Terms apply to all relationships concerning use of the App. Matters not covered herein are governed by applicable laws and regulations.
Article 2 Service Content
The App provides the following English-learning features:
- •English composition practice (input mode and arrange mode)
- •Vocabulary practice (sentence fill-in mode)
- •Speech recognition input and pronunciation practice
- •AI-graded answer feedback and pronunciation feedback
- •Display of grammar explanations
- •Audio playback of example sentences
- •Learning progress management and visualization
Features and content provided may be changed, added, or discontinued without notice.
Article 3 Account
The App's basic features can be used without signing in. Optional sign-in with a Google account or Apple ID is available only when you wish to sync or migrate learning data across multiple devices. Signed-in users are responsible for managing their account information appropriately and may not transfer or lend it to third parties. If misuse is identified, the operator reserves the right to suspend or delete the affected account.
Article 4 Fees
The App provides a 7-day free trial after download. After the trial ends, a subscription is required. Fees, periods, renewal, and cancellation conditions follow the Apple App Store rules and the Notation Based on the Specified Commercial Transactions Act (JP) on this site.
Article 5 Prohibited Conduct
Users must not engage in the following:
- •Unauthorized access, reverse engineering, or tampering
- •Unauthorized copying, reposting, or redistribution of the App's content
- •Harassment of or defamation against other users or third parties
- •Unauthorized commercial use of the App
- •Other actions deemed inappropriate by the operator
Article 6 Intellectual Property
All intellectual property rights in the content of the App (questions, audio data, design, source code, etc.) belong to the operator or rightful owners.
Article 7 Audio Features
(1) Voice input
The App may request microphone access for answering and pronunciation practice.
- •Answering: processed on-device by Apple's speech recognition. Audio is not sent to external servers.
- •Pronunciation practice: recorded audio is sent to Microsoft's speech analysis service for analysis. In neither case is audio stored on the operator's servers.
(2) Audio playback
Example audio for composition and vocabulary is delivered from the operator's cloud storage (Firebase Storage) over HTTPS. Playing audio does not transmit any of your personal data externally.
Article 8 Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is" and does not guarantee any improvement in your English skills or any specific learning outcome. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for damages arising from use of the App. Some features may not work properly depending on network conditions or device state.
The App's AI features (feedback and pronunciation feedback) rely on external AI and speech analysis services and may be temporarily unavailable due to server load or maintenance. AI results are reference information and are not guaranteed to be accurate or complete.
Article 9 Service Suspension and Termination
The operator may temporarily suspend or terminate the service without notice due to system maintenance, natural disasters, or other unavoidable circumstances.
Article 10 Changes to These Terms
The operator may revise these Terms as needed. Significant changes will be announced in-app or on the website. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Article 11 Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute concerning these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance.
